The same antenna that you currently use on your analog set should also provide you with good digital reception. Some people, however, may have to purchase an antenna in order to receive clear audio and picture. More information about antennas is available here: http://www.dtvanswers.com/dtv_faqs.html.
We’ve had questions from several viewers who lost our signal after setting up their digital converter box. Try one or all of the following to get our signal back:
- Re-scan your channels using the menu or setup option. This autoscan should update your receiver and may correct the problem.
- If you have an inside antenna you may need to adjust the antenna (clockwise or counter clockwise) while tuned to ThinkTV16 or 14. The channel may pop-in once the antenna is properly aligned. Many of the set top converter boxes have a signal strength or quality meter under the menu setup. Tune to the channel that is not coming in, check the signal strength meter and adjust your antenna to maximize signal strength.
- Unplug your converter box, wait for about 30 seconds and plug the unit in again then autoscan your channels. This will “cold boot” the receiver and restart the unit.
Check the audio setting on your converter box. The audio setting should be “English 1/2.” You can correct this problem by pushing the AUDIO or SAP button in the middle of your remote control. A display will come up, change your audio setting to “English 1/2.” This should solve the problem.
